Dr. Michael Alcee

Michael Alcée, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist who loves to draw on his passion for literature, music, & art to help individuals, groups, and organizations find their newest creative forms. A two-time TEDx speaker, podcast host ('Live Life Creatively'), and Psychology Today blogger, he is intrigued by: how introverts can solve our mental health crisis, how therapy can heal our polarizing divisions, and how each of us is truly an artist in the making.

He is a the 2019 winner of the American Psychological Association Schillinger Memorial prize for his essay on the link between jazz and psychoanalysis: "Reading the Changes: Freud's Improvisational Art." 

He currently works in private practice in Tarrytown, NY, as an adjunct professor at William Patterson University, and as the Mental Health Coordinator at Manhattan School of Music.
